About Our Centre Play and Learn Children's Centre has been providing quality programs for children of all ages to the community of Meadowvale since 1987. We have ensured that the children are cared for in a safe, happy and fun environment, with consistent positive reinforcement. The children enjoy special events, field trips, and interactive cognitive activities. Our specialized programming is directed towards the individual needs of each child and proves to be an alternative to Montessori. We are licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services and follow the Day Nurseries Act. Our facility is approved by the Regional Municipality of Peel to accept subsidized spaces. We are subject to periodic fire and health inspections conducted by the Regional Departments of Peel. About Our Children The children at Play and Learn Children's Centre have the opportunity to express themselves through creative activities, songs, games, stories and role playing to ensure confident emotional well-being. The consistent routine developed for each age group gives the children a feeling of security while at the same time freedom to grow and develop at their own pace. The designed age appropriate indoor and outdoor play areas, encourage co-operative and caring play while also developing fine and gross motor skills. Specific programs such as "Young Explorers", "Ready Steps", "Happy World of Learning - I", "Jolly Phonics" and "Lippincott", encourage cognitive development through a variety of fun and challenging situations. The "MYC" school-aged program promotes friendships and co-operative activities. About Our Staff Our qualified Early Childhood Educators, Classroom Assistants, Administrative team, and support staff provide a safe, caring and consistent environment. Play and Learn Children's Centre ensures that all staff members follow current policies and procedures and are fully trained in First Aid and CPR. Our on-site Cooks follow Canada's Food Guide, providing daily nutritious meals and snacks. The qualified Bus Drivers ensure the safe transportation of the children to and from school, and for special outings.
